How a Slab Is Poured
We grade and compact the base first. Then we set the forms, tie the rebar, pour the concrete and finish the surface. Control joints are tooled or cut in last. Old, broken concrete is broken out and hauled off before the new work is formed.
A broom finish gives grip when the concrete is wet. A colored border or a stamped band can dress up a plain slab. The parking pad in the photos is a commercial job in Hot Springs.
